A Thai woman running a respected massage business has had enough of 'rude' Aussie men demanding a 'happy ending' and decided to lock them out. Darunrat Chansopha, who owns Pha Thai Massage in Cairns, says the increase in premises offering 'sexy massages' has made her job more dangerous. Ms Chansopha, who completed business studies in Bangkok, only offers authentic therapeutic Thai massage services but still has to decline seedy requests for 'extras' every day.
Such callers are met with a polite but firm 'mai ow, krap' which means 'No thanks'. In the tidy waiting room of her well-reviewed shop, the wall is covered with framed qualifications and a prominent sign that says: 'No happy endings - excellent massage only'.
